The Union Park Neighborhood Assocation’s Board of Directors is comprised of no more than 15 members who are elected during the neighborhood’s annual General Meeting. After the election, the board selects its officers: President (2-year term), Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. All board members are volunteers.

Committees
The UPNA has a variety of committees that focus on specific neighborhood needs. These committees report to the board. Committee members are unelected, and any Union Park resident or business can join at any time.

Activities
The Activities Committee coordinates a variety of social events throughout the year both in Union Park and elsewhere in the community. Events include a spring social, fall family social, movie night, holiday party, open park days, community dinners, and more. Events are often sponsored or co-sponsored by local businesses.

The Development Committee leads fundraising efforts and cultivates donor relationships to support both the UPNA’s general fund and the Friends of Union Park’s designated account. Through outreach and stewardship, the committee helps to sustain neighborhood initiatives and the ongoing care of Union Park.

Rodent Remediation
The Rodent Remediation Committee works to reduce rodent activity in the neighborhood by improving cleanliness, instituting a neighborhood trash policy, and reducing dog waste. The committee also collaborates with the City of Boston and residents to identify problem areas and support effective prevention and remediation efforts.

Friends of Union Park
The Friends of Union Park (FUP) help maintain, beautify, and improve Union Park through donations placed into a designated account. Members oversee projects as tree pruning, fountain maintenance, landscape selection, holiday decorations, and more. The committee also works with the Activities Committee to host events and fundraisers in the Park.

Zoning
The Zoning Committee helps streamline communication between the City of Boston and the neighborhood regarding residential and commercial zoning and permitting hearings and decisions. At the City’s request, the committee also gathers and makes known neighborhood feedback on zoning matters.
